Hi, I’m Yashavantha P., the founder behind the Advanced EMI Calculator project. With over five years of hands-on experience in the finance and lending sector, I’ve spent my career working closely with loan products, repayment structures, and the everyday questions borrowers face when trying to understand their EMIs.
My Background in Finance
My journey in the financial domain began with a simple observation: most people don’t fully understand how their loan repayments work. Whether it’s a home loan, personal loan, car loan, or education loan, borrowers are often handed an EMI figure without a clear explanation of how it’s calculated, how much goes toward interest versus principal, or how prepayments and tenure changes can impact their total repayment cost.
Over the years, I worked directly with various financial products, gaining practical, real-world exposure to different EMI structures — from fixed and reducing balance methods to flexible repayment schedules and part-prepayment scenarios. This experience gave me a deep, ground-level understanding of the gaps that exist between complex financial calculations and what an everyday borrower actually needs to know.
Why I Built This Calculator
During my time in the industry, I noticed that most EMI calculators available online offered only the bare minimum — a monthly installment figure and little else. There was no breakdown of interest versus principal over time, no comparison tools for different loan types, and no simple way for users to understand how small changes (like tenure or interest rate) could significantly affect their financial commitment.
That gap is what led me to start the Advanced EMI Calculator project. My goal was straightforward: build a tool that goes beyond basic math and actually helps people make informed borrowing decisions. I wanted something accurate, transparent, and genuinely easy to use — for anyone, regardless of their financial background.
